Stefan James is a managing director and head of Corporate Banking in the Midwest for J.P.Morgan. He is also head of the Diversified Industries team in the US, covering clients across Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Transportation, Basic Materials, and Industrials.

Prior to joining J.P.Morgan in 2011, Stefan was managing director and global head of International Subsidiary Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, James and his team were responsible for delivering banking solutions to multi-national clients operating across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. He also oversaw the Global Trade and Supply Chain Finance business there.

Stefan joined Bank of America in 2006 as the North Asia regional executive, overseeing businesses in Japan and Korea, and he later served as the head of Asia Pacific Corporate Banking, where he was responsible for executing the bank’s Corporate Banking strategy in the region.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Stefan was a managing director with JPMorgan Chase, where he served as a branch manager and head of Corporate Banking in Korea. He also served as chief administrative officer across the firm’s banking, securities, and wealth management platforms in Korea.
Stefan has over twenty-five years of experience in finance and banking. He began his career at The First National Bank of Chicago where he held senior client coverage positions in the leveraged finance, energy and health care banking units.
Stefan has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Cornell University and a Masters of Management in Finance and Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Stefan is now based in Chicago, Illinois. He lived and worked in Seoul and Hong Kong from 2001-2010. During his tenure in Korea, Stefan also served as advisor in consulting and guiding the Blue House, Korea on financial affairs and as the Vice President of American Chamber of Commerce. Stefan served as Chairman of the Foreign Bankers Group in Korea as well as Vice-Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce. As a member of the Executive Committee of the Seoul Financial Forum, he has advised the Blue House and other regulatory authorities in Korea on matters concerning financial services regulation and macro-prudential supervision. He also served as a member of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC), established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to provide feedback and advice on matters relating. to promoting Seoul as an attractive investment destination. Finally, he was an occasional lecturer at the graduate business schools of Sogang and Yonsei Universities.


Mr. Owens, 65, was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Owens served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Caterpillar Inc., a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines, from February 2004 through June 2010. He was Executive Chairman from June to October 2010, when he retired from the company. Mr. Owens served as Vice Chairman of Caterpillar from December 2003 to February 2004, and as Group President from 1995 to 2003, responsible at various times for 13 of the companies 25 divisions.

Mr. Owens joined Caterpillar in 1972 as a corporate economist and was named chief economist of Caterpillar Overseas S.A. in Geneva, Switzerland in 1975. From 1980 until 1987 he held managerial positions in the Accounting and Product Source Planning Departments. In 1987, he became managing director of P.T. Natra Raya, Caterpillar’s joint venture in Indonesia. He held that position until 1990, when he was elected a Corporate Vice President and named President of Solar Turbines Incorporated, a Caterpillar subsidiary in San Diego, Calif. In 1993, he was elected Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Owens is a director of International Business Machines Corporation and Morgan Stanley. In addition, he currently serves as a senior advisor to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., a global asset manager working in private equity and fixed income.

Mr. Owens is an audit committee financial expert serving as Chairman of the Audit Committee for the company. His background as former Chief Financial Officer of Caterpillar provides a strong financial foundation for Audit Committee deliberations. Mr. Owens has proven business acumen, serving as the chief executive officer of a significant, complex global industrial company. His other major affiliations include the Peterson Institute for International Economics; the Council on Foreign Relations; and former Chairman and Executive Committee member of the Business Council.



Ulf J. Lindqwister, Ph.D., M.B.A. is currently a Country Director of Korea for Caterpillar Inc. Previously, he served as the Chief of Staff and Strategist for Richard Lavin, who is the Asia-Pacific Group President at Caterpillar.

As a Country Director for South Korea, he is responsible for business development and growth in South Korea, including developing opportunities for Caterpillar to source suppliers, create manufacturing plants and drive mergers and acquisitions. He is also responsible for the development of Government Affairs and Public Affairs programs in South Korea. As a Group President Coordinator and Strategist for Richard Lavin, Asia-Pacific Division Group President, he developed and deployed a number of key transformative, corporate initiatives including Lean Product Development, Modularity, Private Equity business restructuring, and Governance Processes. He also played a drafting role in Enterprise Alignment reorganization, which led to sweeping changes to Caterpillar’s business structure.

Prior to joining Caterpillar, Ulf served in various executive capacities with a number of smaller, high technology companies. He also worked for several years as a sub-contractor to Arthur Andersen as an expert on corporate and asset valuations for mergers & acquisitions. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade with NASA, developing and operating NASA’s Global GPS Network, where he managed a network of 200+ permanent GPS tracking stations on all seven continents. Ulf has an MBA from UCLA in finance and operations and a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University.
